Performed before a live and intimate studio audience, in an open session with musicians playing together often for the first time. Held on anniversary night of when Hank and Audrey Williams dueted on a couple songs in Herzog in 1949 and when Hank cut "Lovesick Blues" - recorded so that there could be no “punch-ins”, so that it is presented truly live –only recording levels adjusted – just like Hank’s session. The Lester Upright piano said to have been played by Hank Williams, rescued after 50 years of neglect, and slowly getting in key with each period tuning was used.

The act, event, recording, composition of “Come Play The Lost Notebooks” and release is the execution of a ritual intended to serve as an invitation to all the artists who participated on the Bob Dylan/ Country Music Hall album Lost Notebooks of Hank Williams to perform their songs at Herzog, as well as invite known and unknown musicians to perform Hank and original songs at Herzog, while educating the world on the story of Herzog Studios and Hank Williams’ unique story here.
